Nicolyn “Nicki” Reed Blackstone peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father at the home she loved on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024.
She was born on August 4, 1953 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Joseph and Helen Hunnell Reed.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Reed.
Those left to mourn her and celebrate her life are her husband of 46 years, David Blackstone; sons, Daniel Blackstone of Sarahsville, Ohio, Dallas and Andrea Blackstone of Lewisville, Ohio, Denver and Kelcey Blackstone of Jerusalem, Ohio; her beloved and treasured grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Memphis, James, Phoebe, Annabelle, and Shiloh Blackstone; her sisters, Jaquelyn (Richard) Hupp, Mary (Michael) Peplowski, Aleta Blackstone, Robyn Dill, her brother Joseph (Cindy) Reed; several nieces and nephews.
The joy of her life were her grandbabies who she had with her as much as possible. She always said she was not just watching them, but helping raise them. She always said she had nothing better or more important to do than to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved her beautiful flowers, greenhouse, and garden. Nicki enjoyed blessing others with gifts and acts of service. She was the most self-sacrificing and others focused servant. She enjoyed homesteading with her cheese making, canning, cooking, baking, making fires in her fireplaces and prepping. She showered her family with love and kindness every chance she could. She was truly the best and was everything to everyone that they needed her to be. We will miss her greatly, but we are so thankful for the promise of Heaven to believers. We are positive she is in Heaven today and we look forward to being with her again.
As per her request, there will be no services. We will honor her daily and remember her in every way.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
